The Grade 11 Trigonometry (2D) module extends learners’ understanding of trigonometric ratios beyond right-angled triangles and introduces techniques for solving a wider variety of two-dimensional geometric problems. This chapter builds on the basics learned in Grade 10 and prepares students for the more advanced trigonometry and applications encountered in Grade 12.

Learners explore non-right-angled triangles through the Sine Rule and Cosine Rule, applying these formulae to determine unknown sides and angles in triangles that cannot be solved using basic ratios alone. The following are being dealt with:
